The new resident has appeared in the Phoenix Industrial Park

In the course of the meeting held by the Investment Policy Committee chaired by Rostislav Rovbel, Deputy Governor of the Smolensk Region, there was discussed an issue related to assigning a resident status to Walzmatic Plant, LLC (“Zavod Walzmatic” OOO) within the PHOENIX State Industrial Park.

Walzmatic Plant, LLC is a Russian-based company, manufacturing import-substitution equipment for the agricultural and logistics centres. The plant, which knows no equals in Russia, is fitted with the state of the art equipment manufactured in Europe.

Construction of the plant at the territory of the PHOENIX State Industrial Park will allow for the introduction of extra capacities, production ramp-up, sales markets’ expansion, as well as for the logistical costs reduction in terms of the constituent parts’ delivery. It is also worth noting individually that the investor plans to transfer the whole of the production to the new location, which is currently operating in the Moscow region.

The total investment volume will amount to 165 mln. Rub., however the plant construction is to be finished by the end of 2019.

“The project is targeted at the creation of a high-tech global enterprise within the Smolensk region, and we will use every effort to contribute to the production growth and development. It is important to note that in the course of the project implementation 150 new employment opportunities will be provided”, underlined Anton Yakovlev, the Walzmatic plant manager.

Following the voting results, Walzmatic Plant, LLC was assigned a resident status within the PHOENIX State Industrial Park.

“I would like to mention that in the recent years one of the key focuses in the Regional Administration Office activities was laid precisely on forming the most congenial investment climate and improving competitive abilities of the region. The currently applied operation principles are improving and new mechanisms and tools of investors’ support are implemented on an ongoing basis. As we can conclude based on the above discussed matters, these mechanisms and tools of investors’ attraction and support truly work and contribute to further development and welfare of our region”, mentioned Rostislav Rovbel, summarizing the outcome of the Investment Committee meeting.
